6     Tiki Fashion

You might think what you wear to a remote as in "middle of the planet's largest ocean remote" Tiki Bar as irrelevant. Anything you wear would be just fine. But, in one patron's opinion, that would be particularly painful. For Coco Tiki, fashion, albeit Tiki Fashion, was what got her out of the treehouse every morning.

"If I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't have been born naked", she was often heard saying. Of course, just the N word got many to thinking un-fashionable thoughts. Yet, Coco rang her own bell whenever the breeze stirred, and so was quite used to gawking. Her best days, being naked that is, had probably best been described as, well, a while back. But, hey! she would say: "You just need another drink baby!"

And, she would be right.

Coco couldn't possibly live in a big enough house to house all the different outfits she must own. No one remembers a time when she EVER wore the same ensemble. And, just for the record, which is the ONLY way something like this could be remembered at Tiwaka's, Coco had been dropping in for many, many moons. Attractive to the core, especially her infective happiness, and it didn't take a full moon to appreciate Coco.

Her Treehouse was indeed aptly named and as such had a terrific view of the outer reefs and the outrigger channel to the open sea. She still deftly climbed up a rather steep set of steps her friends insisted was really a ladder. A fancy pully system moved everything else up and down. Solar panels fed the home's appetite and water pumps. Satellite dishes, yes 2, captured the high definition broadcasts in all languages and offered all the music she could ever possibly get through. Inside was a fabulous mix of wood and glass. Many a party had owed it's very existence to this house in the tree.

Coco's penchant for dressing for cocktails, in the jungle at the edge of the beach, captured everyone's curious attention. Not for the variety, colors, textures, and originality, but for the Why? Someone onced volunteered she tested clothing for some mainland tropical clothing outfit. Another opinion expounded her lost fame as a Paris designer as her motivation. No one knew for sure, except perhaps for Coco's full length mirror, and it didn't believe in Fairy Tales.
